George W. Crampton enters his 18th season with a 177-140-21 (.555) overall record and as the all-time leader in wins in men's soccer history at DeSales University. He has guided the Bulldogs to four MAC Freedom Championships (2005, ‘06, ‘07, and ‘10) as well as five appearances in the NCAA Tournament (2005, ‘06, ‘07, ‘10, and ‘11). In addition, DSU has made eight appearances in the MAC Freedom Postseason Tournament and four appearances in the ECAC South Region Tournament and Crampton has been named MAC Freedom Coach of the Year four times (2004, ‘05, ‘07, and ‘11).  Crampton’s teams enjoyed tremendous success over the three-year span from 2005 thru 2007 as he led the Bulldogs to a combined 38-18-7 record, won three straight MAC Freedom Championships and advanced the program to the NCAA Tournament each of those three years. His Bulldogs returned to prominence in 2010 and 2011, winning their fourth MAC Freedom title in 2010 and winning their first-ever NCAA Tournament game in 2011 with a 1-0 win over York College (PA).   During the 2011 season, the Bulldogs also earned their highest NCAA regional rank (2nd) and highest national rank (16th).  The success over the last eight years has etched the name DeSales as a proven power in both the MAC Freedom and Mid-Atlantic Region.

Prior to joining DeSales in 1998, Crampton spent three seasons as an assistant coach at Division II Millersville University. While at Millersville, he helped the Marauders earn consecutive PSAC playoff appearances in '97 & '98, and record the most wins in program history with 14 in 1998.

Crampton's stellar playing career started at Mercer County Community College where he led the team to the NJCAA National Championship in 1991 and was named an All-American in 1992. He was honored for his achievements at MCCC when he is inducted into the Mercer County Community College Hall of Fame in 2009. Crampton then transferred to Elizabethtown College and won two MAC Championships. He was named the MAC MVP and was named to the All-American team in 1994. Prior to his college career, Crampton played with the Republic of Ireland Amateur National Team and has played professionally with the Reading Rage in the USL league in Reading.

In addition, Crampton holds NSCAA National, Advanced, and Premier coaching diplomas, passing all three with distinction. During the summer of 2010 he received his Union of European Football Association “UEFA” A license, which is the second highest certification in the world. He is the Pennsylvania Technical Director and a national staff coach for the NSCAA.

He earned his bachelor's degree from Elizabethtown in 1996 and his masters of education from Millersville in 1998. A Dublin, Ireland, native, Crampton currently resides in Breinigsville, PA, with his wife Lina and daughter Catherine.
