Overview

The Western Lehigh United SC Micro Academy & Futures Academy is for the youngest players, 4-8 years of age. This program helps to foster a love for the game, while taking part in a challenging but fun environment. Through the use of fun games, drills and small-sided scrimmages, players will develop fundamental skills designed to prepare them for our Penn Fusion Lehigh Valley Elite Futures Academy curriculum.

Micro Academy & Futures Academy Sessions are held twice a week for each age group by professional trainers to develop the skills of both our players and coaches. These sessions combine all Western Lehigh players for that age group and focus on the technical development of our players. The trainers are licensed and well-known high school and college-age coaches that are respected throughout the Lehigh Valley. See more specifics below.

  • A quick summary of changes that impact the developmental program include:

New field sizes for age groups

      • All U5 through U8 teams now play on a field 25 yds wide x 35 yds long

New goal sizes for age-groups

      • U5 and U6 will use 3' PUGG goals
      • U7/8 will use 4' x 6' goals
  • New number of players and roster limits per age-group
  • New heading restrictions (U11 and younger)
  • Guidance on training/games ratios

U5 – U6 Micro Academy Sessions - $50

Team Formation: Coed age group with players split by birth calendar year as determined and set forth by US Youth Soccer.

Structure:

    • Wednesday 5:30 - 6:30 PM (starting September 5th)
    • 8 week In-House soccer season with 2-3 events per week
    • 1 Micro Academy sessions per week lasting 60 minutes (every other session with a paid trainer)
    • Roster size 6-8 players
    • Saturday Game Day, In-House games (location/time TBD) 4- 10 minute quarters
    • Each player receives a gold Nike jersey

U7 - U8 Futures Academy Sessions - $100

Team Formation: Gender Specific age group. Registration will be determined by calendar birth year as set forth by US Soccer.

Structure:

    • Monday/Wednesday 6:30 - 7:30 (starting September 5th)
    • 8 week In-House soccer season with 2-3 events per week
    • 1 Futures Academy training sessions per week 60-75 minutes with every other being an Academy style session with a paid trainer.
    • Roster size 6-8 players
    • Saturday Game Day, In-House games (location/time TBD) 4-10 minute quarters
    • Each player receives a gold Nike jersey

U7-U8 Elite Futures Academy - $250 Registration + $700 Player Development Fee

Team Formation: Gender specific age group. Registration will be determined by calendar birth year as set forth by US Soccer.

Academy Structure:

    • Year long soccer season starting September 5th
    • Tuesday/Thursday 6:00 - 7:15 PM
    • 2 Elite Futures Academy training sessions through the Fall season, per week with paid, experienced trainers. 75 minute sessions.
    • 4 Festival/Tournaments against other local clubs elite programs. Each team will play 3 – 4, 20 minute games per Festival. Festivals will be played every other weekend (location/time TBD).
    • Friendly games will be played against local clubs in-between Festival weekends.
    • 1 – 2 Winter training sessions per week (location/time TBD)
    • 2 Winter Festivals/Tournaments
    • 2 training sessions per week through the Spring starting in April
    • 4 Festival/Tournaments in the Spring. Same structure as was played in the Fall season.
    • Season ends early June.
    • There will be 2, 1 month breaks between seasons
    • Each Penn Fusion Elite player will receive a kit which will include a game jersey, training shirt, shorts and socks.
    • Paid Trainers will coach teams at Festivals.
